Avoid Steamboat Willie as You Repair Your Ship in ‘Steamboat Willie Incident’ [Trailer]

While we’re still waiting on the inevitable Popeye horror game, Steamboat Willie is getting another game of his own, thanks to Mascot Bro Studio (the folks behind Backrooms: Partygoers). Currently being developed for Steam, Steamboat Willie Incident is a first-person survival horror experience that sees players trapped aboard a vintage steamboat, where the only hope of escape lies in unravelling cryptic puzzles and collecting clues. Oh, and avoiding a certain mascot.

In Steamboat Willie Incident, you wake up alone on a decrepit, fog-shrouded steamboat drifting aimlessly through dark waters. Your goal is to repair the broken ship and steer it to safety. However, danger lurks aboard the ship, as the sinister Crazy Willie haunts the boat, relentlessly stalking you. His eerie whistles echo through the ship’s corridors, a constant reminder to you that you’re never quite safe.

In order to survive, you must keep your wits about you as you explore the vessel, solve the aforementioned puzzles, and piece together fragments of the boat’s tragic past. Each successfully completed puzzle unlocks access to new areas, bringing you closer to fixing the steamboat. However, Crazy Willie roams the ship unpredictably, forcing you to balance your time solving puzzles with stealth tactics.
