While many had expected that all four members of the “Core Four” would not be back for the upcoming Scream 7, Variety reports tonight that Mason Gooding has now signed on.
Mason Gooding will reportedly reprise the role of Chad Meeks-Martin in Scream 7, the nephew of original Scream character Randy Meeks (played by Jamie Kennedy).
The website additionally notes in tonight’s exclusive report, “Jasmin Savoy Brown, who plays Chad’s sister Mindy Meeks-Martin, has not officially signed on yet.”
Mason Gooding will next be seen in the slasher Heart Eyes, also from Spyglass Media Group.
The cast for Scream 7 also thus far includes Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott alongside Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire), Sam Rechner (The Fabelmans), Asa Germann and Isabel May.
One thing we do know is that Isabel May is playing Sidney Prescott’s daughter, with the upcoming sequel expected to largely bring the focus back onto Sidney and her family.
The seventh installment will slash into theaters on February 27, 2026. Courteney Cox is expected to return as Gale Weathers, but we don’t yet have official confirmation on that.
Original Scream writer Kevin Williamson will direct Scream 7.
