A week after announcing 9x diamond-certified artist Post Malone would be the main attraction in a new event for Hunt: Showdown 1896, Crytek has announced a December 12 release date for Post Malone’s Murder Circus for Steam, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5. The new limited-time event transports players to the demented carnivalesque realm where a supernatural sideshow with a murderous history makes its mark on the Bayou, the Gulch and beyond. Post Malone’s Murder Circus will will run until February 10th 2025.
“When we heard that Post Malone was such a huge fan of the game, we knew we wanted to bring his artistic touch to the world of Hunt,” said Scott Lussier, Game Director for Hunt: Showdown 1896. “Post Malone’s Murder Circus features a dark history and otherworldly powers are a perfect fit for the twisted world of Hunt, and we can’t wait for players to experience the madness firsthand.”
In addition to new Circus Grunt enemy variants and the fearsome two-headed Ursa Mortis bear, the Circus compound features a twisted Fortune Telling Machine that can grant players powerful traits – for a price. Hunters who brave the stage will find rewards, but they must be wary of the dark fortunes that come with them.
Exclusive new content and game mechanics themed around Murder Circus:
- Circus-specific compounds appear on all maps in the Bounty Hunt mode
- Mysterious Fortune Telling Machine – accepts Pledge Marks in exchange for rare rewards.
- Circus Shooting Range
Unique new enemies:
- Ursa Mortis – a challenging new AI defender with a distinct terrifying design.
- Circus Grunts – new AI grunt enemies, members of circus troupe armed with thematic weapons and boasting unique freaky costumes and sound design.
Innovative Weapons, variants, equipment and ammunition:
- Shredder: An experimental mythic weapon shooting both sawblades, and which bounce off hard surfaces and around corners – so players need to keep their wits about them.
- Chu Ko Nu: A high-rate-of-fire repeating crossbow
The Lawson Delta map also makes a comeback in a new update. And adding to the immersive experience, two new Port Sulphur Band songs will be featured in the event. Many more new features and additions will be announced for the event soon.
