The Navarro announcement comes days after Trump named his daughter’s father-in-law, Charles Kushner, ambassador to France. In 2005, Kushner pleaded guilty to 18 counts of illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering, for which he served time in prison. In 2020, Trump pardoned him.
