Kendrick Lamar Releases Surprise New Album, ‘GNX’

Kendrick Lamar is the latest superstar artist to drop a new album with little to no warning with GNX, which arrived worldwide at noon ET today (Nov. 22).

The 12-track pgLang/Interscope album boasts songwriting and production contributions from Jack Antonoff, Sounwave, SZA, Kamasi Washington, Tyler Mehlenbacher, Craig Balmoris, Mustard, Sean Momberger, Sam Dew, Terrace Martin, AzChike, Juju, Hitta J3, Peysoh, Young Threat, Kenny & Billy and Tim Maxey.

GNX is the follow-up to 2022’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers and also comes in the aftermath of Lamar’s Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” which topped charts around the world. It’s nominated for five honors at next February’s Grammy Awards.

Lamar is widely expected to tour in support of GNX next year, but will debut material from it during the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, which takes place Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
