Looking for one more game to try out for Halloween? Developer J. R. Hudepohl and Top Hat Studios have just released their new demo for their upcoming PS1-style dungeon crawler Labyrinth Of The Demon King, which is available now as part of Steam Scream Fest. Featuring the first-ever public peak at the game online, the demo allows players to go through the introductory sequence(s) and a portion of the first tower of the Labyrinth, which includes much of the lower floors and sequenced events.
Since this is the first public showing of Labyrinth Of The Demon King, the team is reminding players that the devs have a Discord server, where you can join and leave feedback on the demo.
Set in a world authentically inspired by ancient feudal Japanese and Buddhist folklore, Labyrinth of the Demon King combines brutal, hardcore dungeon crawling with survival horror themes to create a uniquely visceral experience.
The story centres around Ashigaru, a footsoldier in the service of Lord Takeda Nobumitsu. The world has entered The Latter Age Of The Dharma, with society crumbling, and war, disease and famine having killed thousands. Not to mention that there are demons roaming around.
Deceived by a powerful demon king, Nobumitsu led his army into an ambush, with you being the only survivor. Against your wishes, Nobumitsu sacrificed his life to aid in your escape from the battle. You have made a vow to track down the demon who betrayed your lord and end its life. To do so, you must enter the Labyrinth Of The Demon King.
Labyrinth Of The Demon King is currently due out in 2025.
