‘Phasmophobia’ Now in Early Access on PlayStation and Xbox; “Crimson Eye” Halloween Event on Now [Trailer]

The long wait for console players to get in on the fun with Phasmophobia is now over, with Kinetic Games finally releasing their hit co-op game onto PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and the Xbox Series. As an additional treat, this year’s free Halloween community event, Crimson Eye, will also be available for console players on purchase.

Per Kinetic Games’ latest blog entry, Crimson Eye sees the return of the Blood Moon from last year’s Halloween event. Paranormal energy has drastically increased in several locations, resulting in a new weather type, The Blood Moon.

Players must enter these cursed locations and complete investigations, optional objectives and photograph any Blood Altars you may find to earn blood points. You must work together with the Ghost Hunting Community to collect blood points, which will in turn earn you brand-new rewards. However, during the Blood Moon, ghosts will be empowered and stronger than ever.

According to the devs, this new event brings “a lot of technical changes,” which will allow them to keep track of the event progress and make live changes on their cloud servers, if needed. As a result, this event and future seasonal or temporary events will require an online connection to play any event content.

The full version of Phasmophobia is expected on all platforms and Steam later this year.
