GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year Awards Is Back For 2024

GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year Awards, sponsored by Samsung Galaxy Ring, are back for 2024 – and we’re going bigger than ever to honour the activists, record-breakers and trailblazers who are leading the charge for women’s equality.

Taking place on Tuesday 1st October at Raffles London at the OWO, the GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards, sponsored by Samsung and the new Galaxy Ring, will welcome the year’s biggest names in music, television, film, and sport who have all used their immense platforms to advocate for female empowerment.

We’re delighted to confirm that the mighty Katherine Ryan, award-winning comedian, writer, actor and presenter, will return to host the illustrious awards ceremony in central London – for the fourth year in a row, we might add.

Speaking about the inspiring event, Deborah Joseph, European Editorial Director at GLAMOUR, said: “2024 has already been both a momentous and difficult year for women around the globe, with so many incredible activists speaking truth to power, as well as deeply concerning areas of regression in women’s rights.

“While we still have so much to fight for, it’s even more important to champion the gamechangers, advocates, and feminist icons who are making the world a better place for women. I can’t wait to toast them all at our annual GLAMOUR Women of the Year awards.”

Annika Bizon, Director of Marketing at Samsung, Omnichannel & Head of Ireland – MX Division, said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the GLAMOUR Women of the Year Awards for a third year, an iconic event that spotlights some of the most incredible women driving real change in today’s world.

“I have personally been inspired by so many of the women who have been honoured, and cannot wait to see more of these trailblazers take the stage.”

Also joining as supporting partner for GLAMOUR’s Women of the Year awards are Reckitt – from Finish to Durex and Dettol to Gaviscon, Reckitt is home to the world’s best-loved and trusted hygiene, health and nutrition brands.

At last year’s event, we were proud to celebrate the likes of America Ferrera, who won the Impact Award; Halle Bailey, our Gen-Z Game-Changer; Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Musician of the Year; Lily Allen, Theatre Actor of the Year; Olivia Dean, Samsung’s Rising Star of the Year, the Lionnesses, AKA Sport Icons of they Year; and our Activist of the Year, Georgia Harrison, who quite literally changed the law on image-based abuse.

Hannah Waddingham took home the gong for Entertainer of the Year and used her speech to call for solidarity between women, saying, “We have to choose to hold each other up.” Ariana DeBose, GLAMOUR’s Gamechanging Performer, reiterated this message in her speech, saying, “Seeing us unite for humanity, in the face of adversity, racism, homophobia, transphobia, capitalism, etc etc…. Now THAT. That would be gamechanging.”

We also heard from Fats Timbo, Tinder Creator of the Year, who used her acceptance speech to call for inclusivity: “I proudly identify as a Black woman with dwarfism. Together, we can create a society that values and uplifts the voices of women with dwarfism, where every individual is seen and heard.”

The Women of the Year Awards will also be commemorated with a series of special digital covers and videos, which will be released prior and following the event.
