Travis Scott Arrested In Paris Following Altercation With Hotel Security Guard – Update

UPDATED with rep statement: Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Paris in the early hours of Friday morning following an altercation with a security guard outside the city’s swanky George V hotel.

Per a Paris public prosecutor statement, police were called to the hotel after the rapper was violent to the guard.

“The latter himself had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard,” read the statement, posted by local media outlets.

A representative for Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, confirmed the arrest.

““We are in direct communication with the local Parisian authorities to swiftly resolve this matter and will provide updates when appropriate,”  Melissa Nathan said in a statement received by Deadline at 8.30 PT.

The FranceInfo radio network, reported that sources close to the incident said the rapper was heavily drunk and agitated and refused to cooperate with taking a breath test.

Other sources reported the incident followed in the wake of Scott being swarmed by paparazzi, with fresh harassment as he entered his hotel.

No injuries are reported to to have taken place and Scott has not been charged with any offences at this time.

Earlier in the evening, Scott watched the U.S. basketball team beat Serbia in the semi-final of the Olympics basketball contest in Paris.

Posting on his X account, the rapper described the match as f**king wildddddd”.

Video footage posted on the social networks showed Scott then being chased by paparazzi and encircled by fans as he left the event, even turning to the police for help as crowds started to gather around him.

Friday morning’s arrest, a few hours later, comes less than two months after Scott was arrested in Miami for disorderly intoxication and trespassing.

According to Miami Beach Police public information, the 33-year-old rapper was arrested after getting into a dispute with boat crew on a chartered yacht.

He was released on bond after paying $500 on the disorderly intoxication charge and $150 on the trespassing charge.

Scott is currently part way through his Circus Maximus Tour which will see him set down in Latin American, New Zealand and Australia in the fall, to then return to the U.S. for a date in Las Vegas.
