‘Batman: Caped Crusader’ Trailer: First Look At Matt Reeves’ Dark Take On Gotham City – Update

UPDATED: We’re seeing the first footage of Batman: Caped Crusader, the new series from Matt Reeves, JJ. Abrams and Warner Bros. Animation. We’re also hearing for the first time, the voice of Hamish Linklater as the Dark Knight himself.

Per the official description, in the series, the corrupt outnumber the good as criminals run rampant and law-abiding citizens live in a constant state of fear in Gotham City. Forged in the fire of tragedy, wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne becomes something both more and less than human—the Batman. His one-man crusade for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall, but his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications.

Voice cast also includes Christina Ricci (Yellowjackets) as Catwoman/Selina Kyle, Jamie Chung (Stone Cold Fox) as Harley Quinn/Dr. Harleen Quinzel, and Diedrich Bader (Harley Quinn) as Harvey Dent/Two-Face. The ensemble cast also includes Minnie Driver and Mckenna Grace.

All 10 episodes will drop on Thursday, August 1 on Prime Video.

PREVIOUS, May 9: Batman: Caped Crusader, the new series from Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho, will be fly to Prime Video on Thursday, August 1. All 10 episodes will drop in more than 240 territories.

The news comes ahead of Amazon’s May 14 Upfront presentation.

In addition a slew of first look images dropped from the show, giving audiences a special peek into the world of Gotham City.

The series comes from EPs J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm. Based on DC characters, Along with Abrams, Reeves and Timm, Batman: Caped Crusader executive producers include Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich and Sam Register.
