Miley Cyrus Predicted Her Grammys Win on Hannah Montana Almost 15 Years Ago

Miley Cyrus is a manifestation queen — and she might not even know it. Last night at the Grammys 2024, Cyrus earned her first two Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single “Flowers.”

Alongside Coco Jones, who took home the Grammy for Best R&B Performance at this year’s awards, Miley Cyrus is one of the few former Disney Channel stars to win a Grammy Award. Shortly after her win for Record of the Year, a video snipped began to circulate online from an old episode of Hannah Montana that was timely, and eerily so. “This Hannah Montana clip finally became relevant,” a fan posted on X (formerly Twitter) with a crying emoji.

In the clip, which is from Hannah Montana season 4 episode 8, Cyrus’ character Miley Stewart is working through an intense bout of writer’s block while on deadline for her album. When her best friend Lilly, played by Emily Osment, comes in to check on her progress, she realises Miley has spent hours drafting a hypothetical Grammys acceptance speech, not the bonus track her producer is waiting for.

“’Thank you Grammy voters. Record of the Year, I can’t believe it, I had nothing prepared,’” Lilly reads from the legal pad. “Oh yeah, and I can cry like that. Watch. ‘Lady Gaga, Beyonce, I can’t believe I’m even in the same category as you,'” Miley responds, dramatically fake-crying.

The episode, titled “Hannah’s Gonna Get This,” aired on October 3, 2010, almost 14 years ago during the show’s final season. Fast forward to 2024, and Cyrus’s real acceptance speech for Record of the Year was a little more authentic, but still just as sweet.

“Thank you all so much. This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn’t change anything, because my life was beautiful yesterday. Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy but everyone in this world is spectacular,” she said. “Thank you all so much. I don’t think I forgot anyone… but I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!”
