‘Foundation’s Ella-Rae Smith To Lead Tubi Film ‘My Bloody Galentine’

EXCLUSIVE: Ella-Rae Smith (Foundation, Into the Badlands) has been set as the lead of Tubi‘s horror thriller My Bloody Galentine, from writer Eliza Maher and director Traci Hays. The project will premiere on February 13.

Smith will bring to life the character of Jadyn, the girl next door with a heart of gold who’s never left the United States — until now. She’s Glow’s Social Media Manager.

My Bloody Galentine ponders the question: What sucks more than being single on Valentine’s Day? Being dumped RIGHT before Valentine’s Day… AND on the eve of beginning a new job in another country. Consequently, Jadyn’s first day at Glow Beauty, the renowned skincare company, is off to a rough start. When she bursts out in tears during a planning meeting for her boss’ annual Valentine’s Day soiree, her new co-workers Brandi (Cassie Clare) and Alex (Miriam-Teak Lee) help her pull herself together.

As all have recently become single, they are coping with it in wildly different ways. Bonded by heartbreak, the girls decide to reap satisfying revenge on their exes whilst planning for the re-imagined Galentine’s Day soiree. But it quickly proves not as fun or comedic as in the movies when their exes start popping up dead. It leads to the frightening discovery that a deranged killer, with a radiant skin complexion, is out to get them.

The cast also includes Victoria Ekanoye, Kwaku Mills, Andira Crichlow, Sam Barrett and Carl Spencer.

Daijah Janae, Ashley Squires, Marianne C. Wunch, Hannah Pillemer and Fernando Szew executive produce the indie. Producers are Rick Benattar and Nigel Thomas, with Patricia Rybarczyk and Sacha Bennett co-producing.

Smith most recently portrayed Queen Sareth in the Apple TV+ series Foundation. Before that, she appeared in Harlan Coben’s The Stranger for Netflix. In Season 2 of AMC’s Into the Badlands, Smith portrayed Nix. Additional credits include Netflix’s The Witcher, BBC’s Clique as well as Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Boogie Man, The Commuter, and Into the Deep for the big screen.

She is repped by London-based United Agents.
