On the Radar: The first crime novels of 2024

The press releases and preview copies have been arriving thick and fast here at Crime Fiction Lover. It looks like 2024 has plenty of excitement in store for readers who enjoy mysteries and thrillers, and this week we bring you the first crop of books scheduled for release in the New Year. New year, a new author – this time it is Kate Brody, whose twisty psychological thriller is out on 2 January. Rabbit Hole explores the dark side of true crime fandom, focusing on Theodora ‘Teddy’ Angstrom, who becomes obsessed with solving the disappearance of her older sister, Angie, a decade ago. Her father was obsessed too, and now he has killed himself. After Teddy discovers he had been active in a Reddit community fixated on Angie, she can’t help but fall down the same rabbit hole. As she gets more and more entrenched, Teddy meets Mickey, a charming amateur sleuth who seems eerily keen on helping her solve the case…
