Smith called off Italian shows after she was reportedly briefly hospitalized
Patti Smith was forced to cancel planned concerts and appearances in Italy after becoming suddenly ill and reportedly being briefly hospitalized, Rolling Stone and Italian news outlet TGCOM24 report. Impacted shows include a Tuesday night performance in Bologna, Italy, as well as upcoming appearances in Venice and Milan this week.
“With great regret, we inform the kind audience that the Patti Smith concert scheduled for today … will not be able to be staged due to a sudden illness that struck the artist,” the venue share in an Instagram Story (translated via Rolling Stone from Italian).
Pitchfork has reached out to Smith’s representatives for comment.
