Nick Risher Promoted To CEO At Dark Matter TV

EXCLUSIVE: Nick Risher assumes the role of CEO at Dark Matter TV, a CTV player in the horror + entertainment landscape.

As CEO, Risher will spearhead the programming for Tricoast Worldwide’s AVOD division and premier destination for horror and genre enthusiasts.

“Nick has grown up surrounded by the magic of filmmaking and has an innate understanding of the horror community,” says Nightmare On Elm Street producer, Sara Risher. “I am thrilled to see him take the helm and guide Dark Matter TV to new heights.”

One of the first projects to fall under Nick Risher’s creative direction is the eagerly anticipated fan-made short film, Dylan’s New Nightmare. Directed by the talented Cecil Laird, the film recently enjoyed a private charity screening in Los Angeles at the prestigious Cinelounge on October 19th. The event was attended by Sara Risher, Nick Risher, and Cecil Laird himself, marking a celebratory moment for the entire team. Dylan’s New Nightmare is now available to stream for free on Dark Matter TV, with all proceeds going to the National Audubon Society – Wes Craven’s favorite charitable organization.

“I’m thrilled to assume control of this remarkable channel, which holds a significant position in the horror community,” says Nick Risher. “We’ve got ambitious strategies in store for both the APP and Linear channel this year, and the introduction of DMTV originals is poised to elevate our presence in the mainstream spotlight.”

Along with Dylan’s New Nightmare, Nick Risher is heading Dark Matter TV’s Darktober Halloween programming, which includes the new sci-fi anthology series Black Box from creator Tom Sokalski, the Award-winning horror/comedy Courtney Gets Possessed, Social Media contests and giveaways, and many other brand new horror/genre titles to the app. The Darktober event promises to be a heart-pounding celebration of all things horror, making it the ultimate destination on Roku, Apple, Vizeo, etc. for everyone located in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil seeking a thrill this Halloween season.
