Where they met: “Family Ties”
Longtime couple Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan first connected on the set of “Family Ties” in 1985. At first, the relationship was platonic, as Fox was still in a relationship with Nancy McKeon, and Pollan was dating Kevin Bacon, as reported by E! News. Two years later, the pair reunited on the set of “Bright Lights, Big City” in 1987, this time, as singles, per People.
Fox and Pollan started dating right away, and by December 1987, the couple were engaged. The two tied the knot in July 1988, and welcomed their first child, Sam, in May 1989. By 1991, Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but didn’t go public with his diagnosis until 1998. Along with their son, Sam, the couple are also parents to twins Aquinnah and Schuyler (born February 1995), and daughter Esmé (born November 2001). In March 2023, Fox told People that the secret to their decades-long marriage is his wife, saying, “Tracy gives our family everything that we need. Any good in our family, anything good that we do, comes from her.”
