Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello are divorcing after seven years of marriage. On July 17, the couple confirmed the news in a joint statement to Page Six, stating, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

A source also told Page Six, “Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.” Reps for both Vergara and Manganiello did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.

Vergara, 51, and Manganiello, 46, first met in 2014 at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The actors went on their first date not long after and tied the knot in November 2015.

On July 10, Manganiello posted for Vergara’s birthday, writing simply, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!” on Instagram. Meanwhile, Vergara has been posting photos from a birthday trip to Italy with her friends.

Vergara was previously married to Joe González; they share a son, Manolo. In 2012, she was engaged to business man Nick Loeb, and they split in 2014.
