Kim Kardashian is giving a little more insight into the end of her headline-making romance with Pete Davidson. In the season three premiere of “The Kardashians,” which dropped on May 25, Kardashian chatted with her sister Khloé Kardashian and friend Scott Disick about moving on from Davidson.
“Breakups are just like not my thing,” she said, elaborating, “It’s just — I’m proud of myself. We just had talks and talks, we had been talking about [ending it] . . . both of us communicating really well about it.”
In an interview, Kardashian confirmed to viewers that she was single at the time of filming — “and I’m not ready to mingle, and that’s OK.” She elaborated in the conversation footage that she doesn’t have “random hookups and relationships.” She also admitted that “there was like a lot of guilt” over the split, as “[Davidson] went through a lot because of my relationship.” Davidson was the target of numerous hateful public attacks from Kardashian’s ex-husband Kanye West during her and Davidson’s relationship, which lasted nine months from October 2021 to August 2022.
In April of last year, sources told Entertainment Tonight that the “spark” between the couple had faded as they tried to make their romance work long distance amid work commitments. “They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date,” the source said at the time. “Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he’s the nicest and sweetest guy in the world and there’s no drama or anything weird between them now.”
Kardashian, 42, and Davidson, 29, recently reunited at the 2023 Met Gala earlier this month. The former couple was photographed chatting inside the party with Usher. Both attended the event solo, though Davidson has moved on with his “Bupkis” costar Chase Sui Wonders.
The season premiere of “The Kardashians” is streaming now on Hulu.
