The cast of “American Horror Story” season 12 just keeps growing! In April, it was announced that Kim Kardashian had officially joined the anthology series alongside Emma Roberts. Kardashian unveiled the news on her Instagram on April 10, sharing a video set to eerie music. The clip reveals she and Roberts are starring in a new chapter of the anthology series called “Delicate.” Roberts shared the same video on her Instagram along with the caption, “This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE.”
Variety confirmed the news shortly after Kardashian posted the video, with a rep for “American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy telling the outlet that the star’s character was designed especially for her. Reps for FX and Kardashian did not respond to POPSUGAR’s request for comment.
Kardashian’s “American Horror Story” debut will be her largest acting role to date. She’s had smaller roles in 2008’s “Disaster Movie,” 2009’s “CSI: NY,” and 2012’s “Drop Dead Diva,” among others, and in the years since, she’s made a number of high-profile cameos and hosted an episode of “Saturday Night Live.” She’s also continued to work on her business and reality TV projects, and the third season of “The Kardashians” hits Hulu on May 25.
The 12th season will begin filming in May 2023, Murphy told AHS Zone in March. “American Horror Story”‘s 11th season, “NYC,” took place in New York in the 1980s and premiered in October 2022.
“American Horror Story: Delicate” Cast
Kardashian and Roberts will be joined by Matt Czuchry of “Gilmore Girls” and “The Resident,” who is also making his AHS debut in the forthcoming season, per The Hollywood Reporter. Joining them are Cara Delevingne and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Deadline confirmed on April 28. No other details about their roles have been released at the moment.
“American Horror Story” and “American Crime Story” writer Halley Feiffer will serve as showrunner and writer for all of the season’s episodes.
“American Horror Story: Delicate” Plot
Based on Danielle Valentine’s thriller novel” Delicate Condition,” out in August, season 12 will reportedly center on “a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens,” Deadline reports, citing that it’s also “being billed as a feminist update of ‘Rosemary’s Baby.'”
