Wedding nails tend to beat a familiar drum with their glossy nude shades and a French tip thrown in for good measure. But trust us, lace nails are set to dominate bridal Pinterest boards after celebrity manicurist Kim Truong posted a photograph of Kerry Washington‘s fresh manicure on her Instagram.

Kerry’s squoval-shaped stiletto nails each bear white lace nail art and a smattering of flowers and sequinned accents that exactly mirror the intricate details of her Elie Saab dress. The design is laid down on a neutral baby pink nail but the level of detail elevates a simple nude with what looks like miniature works of art (something that’s a running theme of late – remember Selina Gomez’s ‘70s wallpaper’ flower nails that mimic pressed flowers?)
The look is chic, delicate – as if your fingertips are draped in a lace veil – and plays up a clean well-manicured nail. The trend is also viral on TikTok, where the search term ‘bridal lace nails’ has amassed 54.3 million views and #lacenails 3 million views.
As ever, lace nails come in various iterations from a sheer, high-gloss base to milky and even completely opaque 3D designs. They also look good on both short and long nails, although longer nails have more of a nail plate to showcase the pin-thin designs.
