Watch Lizzo Channel Her Inner Child With a Cookie Flute Solo For Elmo and Cookie Monster

Lizzo is the latest big-name celebrity to stop by “Sesame Street” to channel our collective inner child, and her interactions with Elmo and Cookie Monster did not disappoint!

In a new clip shared on “Sesame Street”‘s Instagram on Feb. 22, the “About Damn Time” singer shows off her flute-playing skills to Elmo and cookie monster using a cookie flute. “The one and only cookie flute for the one and only, @lizzobeeating! Your furry friends love you!” the post was captioned.

“I’ve played a lot of instruments, but I’ve never played a cookie before. May I?” Lizzo asks before blowing her red and blue friend away with her skills. But then, upon his request, the “About Damn Time” singer gives the cookie flute to Cookie Monster! He obviously proceeds to stuff the world’s only cookie flute into his mouth. Rookie mistake, Lizzo!

The wholesome skit may have been a callback to when the classically trained flutist unexpectedly faced the wrath of online trolls in September 2022 for playing a historic flute from the 1800s that once belonged to President James Madison and was lent to her by the Library of Congress. Fortunately, fans are universally loving Lizzo’s cookie flute skit.

In another adorable clip shared by Lizzo on Twitter the same day, she gifts Elmo with a bottle of Balsamic vinegar — a word he’s hilariously struggled to pronounce in the past. “Yeah, baby!” Elmo says in excitement.

From winning the record of the year award at the 2023 Grammys for “About Damn Time” to jamming out with Elmo and Cookie Monster, February has certainly been an eventful month for Lizzo. See her cookie flute solo above.
