Sam Smith Teases They Are Doing “Something Unholy” On And Just Like That…

Sam Smith just teased that they will be gracing our screens when we all inevitably tune in to (hate)watch the next season of And Just Like That

The singer posted a photo of themself peeking out of their trailer door to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon, with the caption, “Up to something unholy on set.” There are no further details at this point, but the fact that it was a Collab post with the official And Just Like That… account seems to confirm the team-up.

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying that HBO Max’s revival of Sex and the City was certainly a television show that you could watch. And watch it many of us did; in fact, AJLT is reportedly HBO Max’s most widely streamed show ever. Never mind the fact that many of us were tuning in week after week because we felt like the show was a car crash we just couldn’t look away from. Ignore the fact that Che Diaz alone spurred a nonstop cycle of blogs about whether nonbinary people are actually that annoying in real life. No, what matters most is those sweet, sweet view counts, and now, the power of our collective eyeballs has spawned a new season of AJLT to drive us all that much closer to the edge.

Thankfully, the lack of details in Smith’s post means that the possibilities are endless. Will it be a one-off cameo? Will we get a Che-Miranda-Sam Smith love triangle (or perhaps even throuple) storyline because that scenario would be distinctly unholy? Is that song actually going to play a role in their appearance on the show, or are they just (rightfully) milking that pun for all its worth? Could Aiden (who, yes, is coming back) and Sam Smith get into a physical altercation for some reason? We don’t know, although we’d like to see it.

AJLT doesn’t have an exact release date yet but it has been confirmed to hit the small screen sometime this summer. Until then, we can’t help but wonder what Sam Smith is doing.
