Julia Fox invented a new way to think about ‘low-rise’ denim

Julia Fox can’t be bothered, and honestly, that’s part of her appeal. She is the living, breathing reminder that it’s not that serious! Case in point: her latest look.

Spotted in New York City on Tuesday, February 7, the Uncut Gems actor wore a whole lot of denim, in what is perhaps a nod to a denim look she wore a little over a year ago back when she briefly dated Kanye West, and was subsequently catapulted into the public eye. Britney and Justin may have done it first 22 years ago, but Julia Fox just made the all-denim outfit her own.

For the outing, Fox wore denim on denim on denim on denim. Her single-shoulder minidress is made of vertically sewn-together jeans waistbands, which create an asymmetrical fringe effect at the hem. The dress is held together by even more waistbands that sit on her hip, giving a whole new meaning to “low-rise” jeans

Fox paired the denim dress with an oversized two-toned denim bomber jacket, and accessorised with a denim handbag and denim booties by Gia Borghini. She wore her now signature dramatic cat-eye makeup and kept her hair slicked back.

From DIY fashion to a chaotic apartment tour to brutally honest interviews, Julia Fox keeps feeding us. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live! that aired in January, Fox told host Andy Cohen that she doesn’t think that Kanye West even knows her full name. “We were literally together for like a minute,” Fox said. “I don’t think he even knows my full name or anything.” If he doesn’t know her name by now, he must not have the same internet as everyone else.

“I have not talked to Kanye in almost a year and I have been in the same room as Kim, but we’ve never spoken about anything,” she added. “It was a very big room.”
