4-Year-Old Kaavia James Wishes Her “Daddy” Dwyane Wade a Happy Birthday

Kaavia James and Gabrielle Union sent Dwyane Wade a heartwarming birthday message while he was miles away from home. On Jan. 17, the Proudly cofounder celebrated his 41st birthday in Paris with Zaire Wade, Richard Ingraham, Chris Johnson, Cory Smith, and more of his friends. Back at home, 4-year-old Kaavia filmed a video in honor of her dad’s big day.

“Happy birthday, Daddy,” Kaavia said, dressed in a princess dress and pigtails. “I know you’re going to have a great birthday. We’re going to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to you tomorrow, and it looks like you’re very happy to see me today.”

“May this year bring peace to your soul and light to your inner child. I love you baby, Happy Birthday!” Union said.

In the caption, she added, “Happy Birthday to my Daddy!!! May this year be as strong and bountiful as your hairline.” At the end of the clip, Kaavia promised Wade she’d see him tomorrow for a scheduled video chat. “My baby,” Wade commented on Kaavia’s post, followed by a string of red heart emoji. The video ended with snapshots of the Union-Wade family enjoying a vacation on the beach.

On her own Instagram account, Union shared clips of herself and Wade looking sharp on the red carpet, playing by the pool with Kaavia, golfing, cycling, and spending time together by the beach. “The EVOLUTION will be televised,” she captioned the montage, which was set to “Happy Birthday” by Jovanie. “Another year around the sun and more lessons learned and more adventures had. May this year bring peace to your soul and light to your inner child. I love you baby, Happy Birthday!”

A few months earlier, on Nov. 15, the trio made an appearance in coordinated outfits at the “Strange World” premiere in Los Angeles.
