Actor Linda Collins Personifies Hard Work and Hustle

It’s been said that actors are like sharks – always on the hunt for that next role, that next juicy opportunity. The hard work and hustle, if you will, seems to be embedded in actor (and sometimes producer) Linda Collins. She not only caught the acting bug, but her symphony background bolsters an already magnetic package. In a world where artists and more are asked to mold a brand and foster an online following, Collins is on her way to launching a small, but mighty fan club.

At the top of that list is the intriguing Clique. Collins portrays Katherine Reed-Bangel in Ish Brown’s modern New York City online drama. Gritty for its realism, and brave for its sincerity, Clique, is a BIPOC LGBTQ+ series. Whatever perception viewers will have about this group of friends is sent topsy turvy with Brown’s originality. The characters are real and viewers can almost feel the chemistry.

Collins is also finishing up her role as mob boss Tiffany in Omar Moore’s crime-thriller series Paper. While she’s certainly not typecast as a woman of power or one to be feared, Collins has accrued a fine list of characters that live on the edge. Some of her recent roles include the pushy hair salon owner in the thriller Cutter. She acted and served as executive producer in Mary Jane’s Tribulations, a scathing drama about poor parenting, and its effects on the child. Arsen Bornik directed the film. Her resume continues with a role in the horror film, Dying to Love. Additionally, she starred in an episode of Debra Markowitz’ A Couple of Guys as Roxanne. She co-starred with Sal Rendino (Billions) and Lukas Hassel (The Blacklist). It’s the second project with Hassel -Collins also worked with the actor in the short film, The Prof.

Collins’ starred in and executive produced the film festival favorite, Three for the Road. The piece took home accolades from New York Independent Cinema Awards, LA Independent Women Film Awards, Amsterdam Short Film Festival, Arthouse Festival of Beverly Hills, Brightside Tavern Film Festival and more.

It can’t be missed that Collins received the Latino Film Festival Omaha Best Supporting Actress trophy for the role of Lauren/the wife in Perception. Written and directed by Andres Irias, Perception tells the story of immigrants from two points-of-view: a Honduran mother who is pressured to migrate, and an American teen from a white supremacist family who is taught to hate immigrants. Collins also served as executive producer and  accepted the film’s award for Best International Film at the Brightside Tavern Shorts Film Festival in March (2021). Her costars in the film include Julia Carias and Octavius Prince.

Collins was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She got her start in the entertainment business playing principal French Horn in several symphonies. She’s already established her discipline and talents in the music industry and she’s bringing that same determination to her acting and producing world. You know what happens when determination and talent collide? Audiences can’t get enough.
