‘Outlander’: Starz Drops Season 7 Teaser Trailer

Starz released a teaser trailer for Season 7 of Outlander, and there’s much drama yet ahead for Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and her beloved Jamie (Sam Heughan) when the show returns next summer.

Outlander‘s seventh season will pick up after the events of the Season 6 finale, which saw Claire (Caitriona Balfe) arrested by Richard Brown (Chris Larkin) for the murder of Malva Christie (Jessica Reynolds) and for being a witch.

The folks from Fraser’s Landing, led by Malva’s father Tom (Mark Lewis Jones), believe Claire ended Malva’s life following the descedent’s allegations that Jamie impregnated her while they were embroiled in a steamy affair. Malva and Jamie were not having an affair; however, the former was hooking up with other local young men—a fact Claire did not share publicly for whatever reason.

As Claire prepares to go to trial this season, things look quite worrying. In a snippet from the teaser, Claire is being fitted for a noose followed by a nudge forward teasing her possible demise. Fans will no doubt be holding their breath while waiting to see how it all plays out next season but it’s important to note that both Claire and Jamie have found their way out of even stickier situations in the past. So here’s to hoping it all works out in the end as per usual.

The voice-over between Claire and Jamie in the trailer is quite sweet, as is to be expected from the Frasers.

“I had a dream, there was light all around you,” Jamie tells Claire in the video. “It wasn’t a candelight or a firelight. And I thought, ‘Now, that must be what electric light is like.’”

Claire replies, “But how can you recognize something you’ve never seen in real life?”

He adds, “I dream of the past, why would I not dream of the future?”

Can fans dare to dream of a future where both Claire and Jamie travel to present day? It’s the holidays after all, a perfect time to make a wish.
