Randy Edelman: Challenges the Darkness of the Beast with the Beauty of his Music “The Beast Inside”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that, we can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark, the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light”…Plato

Music is one of the only things that has no rules and composer Randy Edelman’s music has even less than that. There are beautiful melodies telling of terrible things. You can crawl into the space between the notes and turn your back on the loneliness, while forgetting how to breath amidst the suspense, excitement, complex, and unexpected rhythms and boom of the drums. You can touch it as it touches you. If I could find a way to describe music in a way it has never been before it would be used for this soundtrack….

“It’s the neon echo-energy sucked out of the spirits and switched into sound waves for your ears to swallow”….Isaac Marion

As the music leaps from the boundaries of the screen and dances with the devil “The Beast Inside” directed and co-written by Jim Towns and starring Vernon Wells (Commando, Mad Max, Weird Science), Laurene Landon (Airplane 2, Maniac Cop), and Sadie Katz (The Bill Murray Experience, Wrong Turn 6) follows the story of Anne Williams as she struggles to fight a family inherited demon who threatens to kill her and then move on to her young son. The film is produced by See You Next Tuesday Films with executive producers Mario Reyes, John Pascale, Jimmy Star and Eileen Shapiro. All music was written and performed by motion picture soundtrack deity Randy Edelman.

Randy has composed some of the grandest, most beautiful, sincere, evocative and extravagant motion picture music the world has ever seen and heard. Some of his monumental accomplishments include: Last of the Mohicans, My Cousin Vinny, Dragonheart, Ghostbusters ll, Kindergarten Cop, Twins, XXX, While You We’re Sleeping, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Leap Year, Billy Madison, the theme for the hit show MacGyver, the theme from the Olympics, and over 100 other epic releases. He’s also responsible for writing some of the most iconic Pop songs for artists such as Barry Manilow, Nelly, Patti LaBelle, Olivia Newton-John, The Carpenters, Dionne Warwick, Bing Crosby, and a parade of others.

The Music of “The Beast Inside” features a dark struggle brimming with personality, pride, passion, empathy, and love. Despair is quiet but ghastly, but when it explodes it’s dramatic and terrifying. Randy’s soundtrack touches upon all of those things and can easily replace the words spoken in the film and you’d still get it. It’s a private encounter calling out to a destiny, a beautiful innocence, that rises above the challenge….It captures the audience’s quest for suspense  like that of a raging tsunami radiating outward in all directions away from its source, then like a gentle snowflake unique and perfect it features some of the most beautiful music ever written…..
