There’s no denying that buying a wedding dress for your big day is the most important thing, but the purchase of bride pyjamas – alongside your brides’ dressing gown – can be just as exciting. It’s up there with picking a pair of wedding shoes and just as crucial as your bridesmaid dresses. It’ll be the first ‘outfit’ people will see you in, after all.
Whether you’re looking for a sleek and sexy bridal lingerie set you can re-wear on your honeymoon, or something a bit more comfy and covering, a pair of bride PJs is imperative to the getting-ready process of a wedding morning. Those of you who have been bridesmaids before will know how long it can take to do hair and makeup (up to six hours, apparently), and that some of the nicest photographs you’ll have from the day can occur during this time, so why not wear something special for the occasion?
There are a few things to consider before you get browsing, though; namely the fabric, length, and personalisation and colour options. If you’re getting married in the summer you’ll likely want something lightweight like a cami and shorts set, whereas winter may call for a warmer pair of long sleeve satin pyjamas. Then there’s the question of whether or not to match your bride squad and maid of honour with a ‘team bride’ PJ set or bridesmaid robe/kimono.
Pastel shades like white, rose gold and pink are usually the go-to, but don’t be afraid of exploring floral patterns and brighter shades. This could also be your opportunity to wear your ‘something blue’ with a pair of sky-hued bride to be PJs, or go for total princess vibes with some trending feather pyjamas.
