Patrons and titans of art, film, music, and tech gathered in style thanks to Gucci, raising a record-breaking $5.1 million as Southern California’s blue chip museum undergoes a massive renovation. Honorees included Los Angeles artist Helen Pashgian, who brought the hometown history, and Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook, who brought his cinematic bona fides as well as some unexpected laughs. With Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio at the helm for the gala’s 11th year, their friend Elton John surprised guests with a rousing set under the stars.
