Saturday Night Live has announced Dave Chappelle will host the show next week (November 12), with a reunited Black Star (aka Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli) serving as the musical guests. Chappelle previously hosted the show in November 2016 and in November 2020. The news was revealed during last night’s episode, which featured musical guest Steve Lacy and was hosted by Amy Schumer.

At the 2016 show, Chappelle implored the audience to “Give Trump a chance” in his monologue; he later expressed regret, admitting, “I fucked up.” He would go on to win the 2017 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for the speech—his first. Chris Rock joined him for an election night sketch, and A Tribe Called Quest were the musical guests on the 2016 episode.

After an extended hiatus, Black Star reunited and released No Fear of Time earlier this year.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Dave Chappelle had most recently hosted Saturday Night Live in November 2016. The comedian also hosted the NBC program in November 2020.
