27 Best Christmas Movies On Netflix If You Want A Festive Flick

The Christmas countdown has officially started at GLAMOUR HQ. And do you know what that means? Netflix Christmas movies, obviously.

We’re turning up for all the festive joy and excitement in the lead-up to the big day, and with that marks the beginning of sofa season (AKA our all-time favourite season). Hurrah! And while we don’t want any scary reminders of lockdown, we’re more than excited to wind down with the workload and slip into our pyjamas for an all-day session, eating Quality Street for lunch and enjoying back-to-back movie marathons. So, what should you be tuning into this year?

Unsurprisingly, Netflix has the best of the bunch with its offering of Netflix Originals Christmas movies. The streaming giant is set to deliver us some amazing festive hits this year. Most notably, Lindsay Lohan is set to return to our screens with Falling For Christmas, while Freddie Prinze Jr. will entertain us in Christmas With You. Last year, the streaming service gave us The Princess Switch 3: Romancing The Star (Vanessa Hudgens was back as not two but three characters this time) and Love Hard, starring The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev.

We also have all of the gems from previous years to revisit, like queen Dolly Parton’s comedy musical film, Christmas On The Square, which remains firmly at the top of our watchlists even a year after its release.

That’s not all. Netflix’s offering of original Christmas content is even better. Take The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, which is as wonderfully festive a film as you can get. Starring real-life couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell reprising their roles as Mr and Mrs Claus, the sequel follows on from the widely-adored The Christmas Chronicles from 2018. We’ll be catching up with siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce, who, in the first film, teamed up with Santa to save Christmas after crashing his sleigh on Christmas Eve.

Netflix explains: “It’s been two years since siblings Kate and Teddy Pierce saved Christmas, and a lot has changed. Kate, now a cynical teenager, is reluctantly spending Christmas in Cancun with her mom’s new boyfriend and his son Jack (Jahzir Bruno). Unwilling to accept this new version of her family, Kate decides to run away.

“But when a mysterious, magical troublemaker named Belsnickel threatens to destroy the North Pole and end Christmas for good, Kate and Jack are unexpectedly pulled into a new adventure with Santa Claus.”

Also, it’ll be nice to see some familiar faces during our Christmas watch, including Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford in the Christmas Wedding Planner and the stunning Kat Graham in the Holiday Calendar. We seriously cannot wait for Christmas! So curl up with a mug of hot cocoa and one of these Christmas movies on Netflix for the ultimate night in.
