Pbs/Independent Lens Collection of Documentaries Now Streaming – Truth Is Scarier Than Fiction

As we near Halloween, I wanted to reach out to share with you an educational alternative for spooky movies to stream this season: the Independent Lens “Truth Is Scarier Than Fiction” collection of documentaries, now streaming on PBS.

The collection includes the films “Coded Bias,” “Feels Good Man,” and “People’s Republic of Desire,” all currently streaming, with a fourth film, “TikTok, Boom.” set to join with its broadcast premiere on Monday, October 24.

All four films explore the spooky side of technology, addressing racial bias in AI algorithms (“Coded Bias”); how the alt-right co-opted an Internet meme for nefarious purposes (“Feels Good Man”); virtual relationships real-life human connections (“People’s Republic of Desire”); and issues of security, content moderation, free speech and more behind TikTok (“TikTok, Boom.”).

Would love to know if you might be interested in covering this collection or including in any non-traditional-horror-movie roundups for Halloween – let me know what you think, and happy to answer any questions!
