You may know Kaia Gerber as the 21-year-old model who has walked for fashion houses as great as Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Celine – but did you know she’s just launched a 90s-inspired capsule collection with Zara? Yep, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford can add yet another name to the extensive list of brands she’s worked with – this one being on the more affordable side.
Available to shop now and inspired by her own off-duty style, the 41-piece Kaia x Zara collection is complete with oversized tailoring, a slinky slip dress, a microscopic mini skirt, sexy crop tops plus a few boots, trainers and accessories. Your autumn/winter wardrobe? Consider it sorted.
Taking cues from capsule wardrobes, Gerber said the idea behind the line-up was to create something that provides you with everything you could ever need in your closet. “If you were travelling and packed an entire collection, could it cover every possible need that you had? I think we’ve achieved that.” She explains.
We await the occasional special collaborations from Zara every year (read: its most recent one with Narciso Rodriguez), but it’s rare for the high street hero to team up with celebrities. When it does happen, that said, one acts before thinking and adds everything to cart. The Kaia Gerber Zara collection is available right now. You can shop the entire drop here and see an edit of our favourite pieces below.
The curated selection full of essentials features lots of denim and leather, as a nod to her American heritage, with an easy-to-wear colour palette in keeping with Kaia’s wishes for inclusivity.
“I wasn’t just thinking about myself when designing,” she says. “I was thinking about my mom, my friends and everyone I see around me. My style is pulled from a lot of different places and I didn’t want to design something that excludes anyone.”
In keeping with the rest of Zara’s website, sizes range from XS to XXL. Although a few pieces are currently out of stock, there are already plans to replenish them, so set those email notifications people.
