First it was skin, then it was nails, and now, the glazed donut beauty trend has another iteration that we are all lusting over – chocolate glazed donut nails. True to its predecessors, it has the same glistening gleam of a Krispy Kreme donut but this time, with an irresistible chocolatey base colour underneath instead of a milky pink or nude.
Once again the brainchild of beauty inspiration Hailey Bieber, who also gave us glazed donut skin back in January and the OG glazed donut nails just last month (the hashtag #glazeddonutnails currently has more than 79 million views on TikTok), the video showcasing the look has already amassed over six million views in just two days. “I know we’re tired of my constant color switch up but… the chocolate glazed donut nails are really hitting for me for fall,” Hailey said in her post.

While many would default to an autumnal red as the cooler months set in, chocolate glazed donut nails make for a more interesting alternative thanks to its muted tones and multidimensional top coat.
Hailey’s look was created by celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, who used a light caramel brown shade combined with an opalescent top coat to achieve the glazed finish that also adds an extra colour dimension to the base shade, appearing almost golden under a certain light.
Zola typically uses OPI Chrome Effects in Tin Man Can from the brand’s professional range to get the subtle, iridescent finish but for those tempted to try the look out for themselves, there are plenty of at-home products that can create a similar effect. Try a coat of Nails Inc What The Shell, Nail Berry Nail Lacquer in Star Dust or My Mood Nail Polish in Soul on top of your chosen chocolate shade.
TikTokers are already rushing to try the trend for themselves. “The way Hailey Bieber has a chokehold on the nail industry 🍩” one user shrewdly said while another commented, “my life philosophy is simple, whatever Hailey Bieber does… I do.” We couldn’t agree more.
