Irina Shayk sparked rumors that she and Bradley Cooper, her ex-boyfriend and father to their five-year-old daughter Lea, may be giving their romance another shot when she posted a photo of the two of them posing on a beach vacation. Shortly after, a source set the record straight to E! regarding what’s really going on between them.
While Shayk did not comment on their relationship status herself, a source told E! that no, Shayk and Cooper aren’t currently dating. “They are co-parenting and get along well for the sake of their daughter,” the source said. “They do things as a family and it’s going well.” Cooper was last reported be dating Huma Abedin at the end of July. Shayk, meanwhile, was briefly linked to Kanye West in summer 2021.
Shayk spoke to ELLE in March 2021 about Cooper and why she keeps details of their relationship private. “I never understood the term co-parenting,”she started when asked about their relationship then. “When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting.”
“My past relationship, it’s something that belongs to me, and it’s private,” she said of her and Cooper’s time together romantically. “It’s just a piece of my inner self that I don’t want to give away.”
In regard to tabloid coverage of her, “I don’t read what is out there,” she added. “Honestly, I’m too busy raising a child. If they want to write articles [about me], they’re doing their job. I’m concentrating on my life and my friends. The rest is just noise.”
