The Winx Saga season 2: Netflix just dropped a trailer and release date and we’re buzzing

The Winx Saga was one of the most popular Netflix series of the decade so it was only right that the streaming service gave the fans more of what they want. Dubbed a mash-up of Harry Potter meets Riverdale, the series is based on the Nickelodeon cartoon Winx Club. It follows Abigail Bloom, (played by Abigail Cowen), a Californian teenager who after a devastating accident, learns she is, in fact, a fairy.

In order to learn how to harness her power, Bloom moves to a magical boarding school in the ‘Otherworld’ where she not only has to come to terms with her newfound powers but must also fight monsters (and fight off the charms of flirtatious men, too).

The official synopsis reads: “Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence. From creator Brian Young (The Vampire Diaries), Fate: The Winx Saga is a live-action reimagining of the Italian cartoon series Winx Club by Iginio Straffi.”

When is The Winx Saga Season 2 out?

The second season will come packed with eight episodes filled with drama, teen angst and lots of magic. Production started filming in Ireland last year and it will drop on September 16.

Who is the cast for The Winx Saga Season 2?

Abigail Cowen will reprise her role as protagonist Bloom, Hannah van der Westhuysen will return as Stella, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Eliot Salt as Terra and Elisha Applebaum as Musa. We are hoping for some new cast members to spice up the story line.

Showrunner Brian Young shares: “As Bloom’s story continues to evolve, I can’t wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra and Musa. And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term.”
