Sometimes, even Thor gets punched in the face.
While breaking down his most iconic characters for GQ, Chris Hemsworth opened up about the time Kristen Stewart punched him in the face for real while they were filming their 2012 take on the Snow White fairy tale. According to the actor, who played Eric, the titular huntsman in Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen was “more upset” over the hit than he was.
“I was more upset she didn’t continue on through the take,” Chris said of Kristen, who, of course, played Snow White. “She kind of hit me and then immediately went, ‘Oh, my God, I’m so sorry.’”
He added, “I was like, ‘That would’ve been the perfect, most truthful take that we had.”
Chris Hemsworth isn’t the only one reflecting on his past film experiences. Back in November 2021, Kristen Stewart discussed connecting with Robert Pattinson during their Twilight chemistry read at director Catherine Hardwicke’s home, where the pair were asked to kiss.
“It was so clear who worked,” Kristen told The New Yorker before mimicking a swoon. The Spencer star, who ended up dating Pattinson for four years, added that he had an “intellectual approach” to the role “that was combined with ‘I don’t give a [f*ck] about this, but I’m going to make this sing.’”
This energy was part of the reason Kristen felt connected to her costar. “And I was, like, ‘Ugh, same,’” she said. “And, whatever, we were young and stupid and, not to say that we made it so much better, but that’s what it needed, and that’s what anybody playing those parts needed to feel.”
Meanwhile, Robert told W magazine in 2017 that he took a Xanax before his Twilight audition. “I flew out to L.A. to actually audition for something else, which I was told was mine to take, just on a plate,” he shared. “And I went in and completely ruined the audition. And then the next day was the Twilight audition. And I think I was at such a kind of nothing-to-lose state, it was quite easy for me to do.”
