17 skorts for summer to boost your confidence and keep your 🍑 covered

Skorts came back on the scene in 2020 when a hoard of gen-Z Depop users started flogging their Slazenger tennis skorts for extortionate prices after they went out of stock overnight. Originally, of course, skorts rose to popularity back in the 1960s along with the feminist fashion movement and, then, again in the 90s with the rise of grunge clothing.

Now, over 30 years later they’re circling back – and retailers are stocking everything from micro mini skirt/skorts to the mullet-style skorts with skirts in the front and shorts in the back. And with celebs from Bella Hadid all the way to Emma Chamberlain flaunting skorts at festivals, on vacay and just in their general street style, we certainly don’t want to be left out. Nor left in the lurch when all our favourite brands sell out once more.

Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a round up of the best skorts for every budget and style (whether that’s sporty or high fashion) to save you time and effort.

The Free People denim skort reigns supreme on the high street, with a cut that rivals that Miu Miu skirt and pockets. Plus, it’s in stock in all sizes – from a 24 waist up to a 32 – to boot. Elsewhere, we love this leather look pick from ASOS. At just £25 and still available in sizes eight through 18, this y2k-friendly low rise skort is an ideal day-to-night purchase and we’ll be adding it to our baskets ASAP.

After more trending fashion? Look this way for the best pencil skirts, over here for midi skirts and down this way for tall skirts. We’ve also got knitted shorts and summer shorts, as well as cargo pants and white jeans – enjoy!
