Interview with Teyquil

Big welcome to Teyquil.  We are LOVING your latest release and excited you have new music coming. What can you tell us about “Girlz on Bikes”  What was your inspiration behind the song?

Well, first off, hello!!! Thanks so much for having me. Ya know, I think my biggest inspiration for “Girlz on Bikes” is getting the chance to express my sincerest attraction for hipster/punk rock girls in the most tasteful way.  It was absolutely fun producing and writing this track and hope the audience out there feels the same when they listen. It’s just a feel good repetitive tune that just pulls you in until the song ends.

Tell us something about yourself that might surprise us!

Well, you might be surprised that I was raised Jehovah’s Witness and attended many meetings in and outside doors for the talks. I went with my mother faithfully every Sunday and Thursday. Good times and great information.

What do you want listeners to take away or feel after listening to your latest release?

I want the listeners to feel good and enjoy some good music that may inspire them in some way. I want them to walk away with a smile, help out a neighbor, have conversations or just dance around the house in the privacy of their own palace. I want to connect with them through music amid the chaos that is destroying our planet. I’d love for them to step away for a while and just engage in something more hopeful, entertaining, positive and receptive.

2022 is flying by us, do you have any career goals for yourself this year? Would you be willing to share some?

Yes, the year is definitely flying by but my goals for next year is simply booking as many shows as possible and seeing your beautiful faces in the crowd. Fingers crossed that I crash your city and give you an unforgettable experience.

Tell us your favorite things about making music.

I love the way it makes me feel. I love producing music and putting it out there. I also enjoy the process in creating music as it is a challenge keeping up with the program.

Where can we find your new release tolisten and keep up with you on socials?
