Last night, Baby Keem returned to Coachella for weekend two, following his first-ever set at the festival the previous weekend. During his Friday night performance, he surprised fans by bringing out Kendrick Lamar for “Family Ties”  and “Vent” from his 2021 album The Melodic Blue. Watch those song performances below, and follow along with Pitchfork’s full coverage of Coachella 2022.

For his Coachella set during weekend one, Baby Keem invited Brent Faiyaz onstage to perform “Lost Souls” together. Last year, he teamed up with Travis Scott for “Durag Activity” and dropped a music video for “Family Ties.” His Kendrick Lamar collaboration went on to win the Best Rap Performance award at the 2022 Grammys.

Kendrick Lamar recently announced his new album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is coming out May 13. It’s self-described as his “final TDE album” and is the follow-up to Damn, Pitchfork’s No. 1 Album of 2017. He teased the record by sharing a link to his Oklama website.
