Selena Gomez Goes Retro In Bubblegum Pink Suit Skirt and Blazer Set

On Saturday, Selena Gomez walked the red carpet at Deadline’s Contenders Television event wearing a pink mini-dress with cut-outs at the waist, with a matching short jacket in the same cheerful bubblegum shade. The cotton-blend tweed fabric was a classic throwback by Mango with a modern twist. The jacket was trimmed with black buttons and two front pockets, and she paired the outfit with pointed black pumps.

Gomez had her dark brunette hair half swept up, the rest brushing her shoulders. She accessorized with Dune hoop earrings by Jenny Bird and natural makeup with a glossy pink lip.

The pop artist was coordinated with her co-star in Only Murders In The Building, 72-year-old Martin Short, who also wore a hint of pink for the event at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. They were joined by the show’s co-creators and showrunners John Hoffman and Elgin James. Collaborator Steve Martin moderated a panel discussion about the mystery-comedy series second season on Hulu.

In the show, Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short play true-crime podcast hosts who are investigating a death apartment complex, The Arconia. Gomez has apparently been having an incredible time filming with the two comedy legends.

She told Glamour in August 2021, “Steve and Marty are icons, legends. It was so much fun to be able to work with these comedic geniuses, and in such a time where humor is different, their humor is timeless and it’s crazy. I had a blast.”

She added, “They are just like quirky and cute in their own way. They felt like my two crazy uncles. Just imagine being in the middle of those two. I was captivated.”

She even sought them out for some life and career advice.

“My questions always consisted of ‘What were you doing when you were my age?’” she said. “I asked them about love, I asked them about their careers, I asked them about humor. I was constantly asking questions. It was so much fun for me to learn and really feel like I was a part of the gang. They even initiated me as third amigo.”

Gomez said their best advice was, “‘Don’t rush.’ I think if anything, they’ve just always taught me to enjoy the moment that I’m in and to be aware of my worth and my value.”
