‘Undone’ Season 2 Trailer: Alma & Becca Embrace “Miraculous” Time Traveling Abilities As Rotoscoped Amazon Series Returns

At WonderCon on Saturday, Amazon unveiled a trailer teasing the Season 2 return of its acclaimed animated series Undone, set for April 29.

The half-hour, genre-bending animated dramedy from creators Kate Purdy and Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman) explores the elastic nature of reality through its central character, Alma (Rosa Salazar), a 28-year-old living in San Antonio, Texas alongside her mother Camila (Constance Marie) and sister Becca (Angelique Cabral). After getting into a car accident and nearly dying, Alma finds she has a new relationship to time, developing this new ability in order to find out the truth about her father Jacob’s (Bob Odenkirk) death.

In the show’s eight-episode second season, Alma realizes there are deeper mysteries in her family’s past. However, no one in her family is interested in digging up uncomfortable truths with her—until she finally convinces her sister Becca to help her look. As the sisters search for answers, they unravel a complex network of memories and motivations that have shaped who they are today. And they ultimately realize that it’s by healing this family trauma that they can make all of their lives better.

Undone is the first episodic series to have been brought to life using rotoscope animation. Purdy and Bob-Waksberg exec produce it alongside Noel Bright (BoJack Horseman), Steven A. Cohen (BoJack Horseman), Tommy Pallotta (A Scanner Darkly), Femke Wolting (Tower), Bruno Felix (Tower) and Hisko Hulsing (Cobain: Montage of Heck). Hulsing also serves as director and production designer, with Salazar and Odenkirk producing the show from Amazon Studios and Tornante Productions.

Undone was met in its first season with Annie, Critics’ Choice and Gotham Award nominations. Check out the trailer for Season 2 by clicking above.
