Things We Saw Today: ‘Magic: the Gathering’ Takes Us to the Streets of New Capenna

A new block of Magic: The Gathering is coming from Wizards of the Coast and this one is taking place in the gangster and noir-inspired world of New Capenna.

In the video above, The Command Zone host Jimmy Wong sits down with Wizards of the Coast Creative Producer Lauren Bond and Consulting Loremaster Jay Annelli to deliver a behind-the-scenes look at the world-building and story design for “Streets of New Capenna.”

It breaks down the creation of the five families, the city, the characters, and how it will all connect to upcoming gameplay and MTG’s ongoing story.

I am already loving the art-deco-inspired lands and all of the different looks. Anytime there is a Vivian Planeswalker character design, I’m excited to see where it goes.
