Stephen Colbert How America’s Low Libido Is Leaving Folks Sexless

On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, it’s Valentine’s day, so of course he talks about how Americans have lost their sexual mojo.

Quoting CNN Health, Colbert states that Americans are at a 30-year low for sexual activity. Meaning Americans are less likely to have sex, get partnered up, or get married. In typical fashion, he uses this moment to make sarcastic jokes about sexless Americans.

“No judgements! Whatever doesn’t float your boat. I’m not gonna kink shame the jigsaw puzzle, breathe right strip, lights out by 9pm lifestyle.”

He presents more facts about Americans and sex that say, 26 percent of Americans didn’t have any sex in the past 12 months according to the 2021 General Society Survey. However, he didn’t say if it was pandemic related or if Americans just aren’t feeling it. Either way, the host questions how they gathered this information in the first place.

“The poll does have a margin of error of plus or minus a stranger is calling me with questions about what I do with my junk.”

The survey also found that couples that had sex less than once a month doubled between 1989 and today, leading researchers to conclude the 1980s were better for sex. The late night leading man has a flashback about the 1980s and how things went down for lovers.

“Well of course they were! We have way better tv now. These days you have to stay up to watch three episodes of Station Eleven and then pass out at midnight. Back then it was Alf at eight, then it was straight to bone-town until Carson came on.”
