Rihanna’s iconic cupid’s bow inspired Fenty Beauty’s first classic bullet lipstick

All of the shades — from the lightest pink (called Motha Luva) to a rich chocolate brown (named She A CEO) — are infused with Rihanna’s favourite vanilla-peach scent. And though the signature scent fades as you wear them, the kiss of colour each swipe deposits is much longer-lasting.

Just one layer of the highly pigmented colour has a powerful payoff, but to extend the colour even longer, apply one coat, blot lips with a tissue, then touch up with a second layer.  As for easy application if you’re on the go, the sharp point of the Fenty Icon Refillable Lipstick bullet gives incredible precision.

In true Rihanna fashion, the packaging is next-level. RiRi’s metallic case is designed to make for a keepsake accessory. And while – full disclosure – it can be tricky to get your head around how to open it to begin with, once you’re in it’s worth the wait. And since the lipsticks are refillable, you can wear the shades over and over again without having to get rid of the casing.

Fenty Beauty’s Fenty Icon Refillable Lipstick retails for £28 with the fills (£18) and case (£10) sold separately. Find it in Boots and Harvey Nichols from 4 February.
