Fresh off her new Las Vegas residency, Katy Perry brought her signature campy style to Studio 8H during “Saturday Night Live‘s” Jan. 29 episode, which was hosted by legendary actor Willem Dafoe. Joined by several mushroom-clad dancers, Perry’s “SNL” set looked like something straight out of “Alice in Wonderland.” Perry stunned in a skintight red latex bodysuit paired with matching fringed chaps and a mushroom top hat as she delivered a flawless performance of her new single, “When I’m Gone,” with Swedish EDM producer Alesso. She also performed an acoustic version of 2019’s “Never Really Over” while donning a fluffy and ruffled baby-blue dress.
Perry’s appearance marked her forth time as the sketch comedy show’s musical guest, coinciding with her Las Vegas residency titled “Play,” which runs through March 19. In December, Perry dropped her long-awaited new single, “When I’m Gone,” along with an accompanying music video, which premiered during the halftime of the 2022 College Football Playoff National Championship.
