This viral hack promises to create your perfect lipstick colour, by mixing your brow and blush shade

When TikTok first came onto the scene we thought it was just entertaining dances and voice-dubbing over random movie scenes, but the app has proved to be SO much more. It’s given us hacks for everything from cooking to storage, from hair (hello, five-minute flicks blow-dry) to skincare, and it’s latest is all to do with perfecting our makeup.

The new hack is all to do with creating the perfect shade of lipstick for you, a task we have eternally failed at in the past (perfect red, where are you?!). So, with V-Day on the horizon, we were only too keen to perfect our pucker and look into the trend for ourselves. 

It’s not clear exactly who discovered this ingenious (read: mad) hack — though we’re eternally indebted to them — but one of the earliest videos walking viewers through the process is from TikTok user @yokenzie (Kenzie B). 

Her video has racked up 2.2 million views since she posted it a few days ago, and over 6,000 lipstick-lovers have flooded the comments so far. 

“I have a little tip for the girlies,” she says to camera, before explaining: “Your perfect lip-shade will be your eyebrow liner, whatever you use for blush and then a gloss…. [and] it will always be the perfect lip shade.”

And the process if basically pretty easy. You use your eyebrow liner (or pencil) as a lip liner, then you add your blush to the middle of your lip and then you slather a gloss over the top and, HEY PRESTO (supposedly), your ideal lippie colour will appear. 

@yokenzie explains that the reason she is sharing the tip is because other women always ask her what lip combination she is wearing, and she has to tell them that she created it herself.

If you’re wondering whether this really works, don’t worry, so are the comments on the video. 

“Girl, my eyebrows are black…” wrote one user, while another said: “Black and pink? LMAO not me.”

BUT, Yokenzie has replied to both women to try it out for themselves before they dismiss the hack, and there are also quite a few comments from people who have given it a go and are now converts: “LOVE IT… was worried at first but LOVE IT.”

And it seems that the hack quickly caught on, because since this video went viral, lots of other makeup-enthusiasts have taken to the app to share the hack with their own followers. User @millieleer shows herself following Kenzie’s instructions to create the perfect lip-shade and we have to say… we think it does actually work.
