GLAMOUR Tries: We tested the 9000 Cordless Hot Brush from Babyliss to see if we could achieve that ’70s flick

Don’t get me wrong, with a lot of heat and hairspray (and turning a blind eye to the damage this was doing to my hair) I have previously been able to get a few curls, but nothing that would stay in place for more than an hour. However, after quickly using this super sleek bristled wand, here I am, two hours later with hair that looks like I’ve just walked out of the salon. I’d say it’s a Christmas miracle.

This product is a heated barrel and brush hybrid, making it super easy to curl your hair as it naturally holds within the bristles (no more burning the tips of your fingers, although a heat-proof glove is also provided).  To top it all off this product gives up to 40 minutes of cordless use. Portable and perfect in every way. What’s not to love…just don’t forget to charge it!

I love big, bouncy hair but it’s often quite difficult to get that effect outside of the salon – the Babyliss Hot brush is a real game-changer here. The brush heats up quickly, offers three heat settings, and is super easy to use once you get the hang of it. It took around 20 mins to do my whole hair but by the end of it I’d figured out several ways to achieve different styles of curls and waves.

I typically use a hair straightener to curl my hair but this was a lot easier and gave a much softer, bouncier effect. More importantly, the curls lasted throughout the day! I was really impressed with the final look – especially on my fringe which can sometimes look a little flat. I also love that this brush comes with a glove, a heat mat, and a protective case. The only downside is that it does take a while to charge — but for a salon effect at home, I’ll take it!
