Vieve has just launched these epic Shimmer Eye Wands, same as the OG ones, but better…

This festive season and beyond, I’m all about shimmer. When it comes to eyelids, that is almost a must. I don’t mean disco ball glitter or a barely-there glow, but somewhere in between is just perfect. I’m a huge fan of Jamie Genevieve’s makeup looks because she is all about that dewy, healthy glow…so am I!

If she tells me I need this Shimmer Eye Wand, I am more than likely to listen so I decided to give the Blush Quartz shade a go. On first impressions, I love me a wand, it’s easy to hold and quick to apply. The wide ball pen nib covers a large surface, so you only need a few swatches to get the product to show. The pigment does leave you some room to build and to blend, so you have full control. The only thing I’d say is I might go for another shade next time, I tried to be adventurous by choosing a cooler tone, but the bondage I have for shimmery golds will always pull me back. As for that Burn Copper shade… I have my eyes on you!

Shade: Old Gold

I am a long-time fan of Jamie Genevieve’s and have followed her since she herself introduced me to a smokey eye look via one of her YouTube tutorials way back when. When I received Vieve’s Eye Wand to review I was instantly reminded of said video, so I decided to go for an all-over smoked-out finish as a little nostalgic nod.

The shade Old Gold is the perfect tone to create this glamorous effect as, although it’s dark in hue, it features tiny shimmering flecks that catch the light and sparkle on your eyelid. I cannot stress enough how easy it was to use. I simply smudged it all over my lid, blended out the edges, and had myself a complete eyeshadow look in less than a minute – ready for my next festive event. If you’re the type of person who relies on super quick makeup that’ll have you ready and out the door in seconds, then you’ll love this. My favourite part? It didn’t crease. At all.
