The best blazers to add an edge to your winter wardrobe, including Kate Middleton’s Reiss blazer that’s finally back in stock

Though heavy winter coats are very much required during our al fresco escapades, I’m a firm believer that humble blazers shouldn’t be reserved for warding off the remnants of a spring chill. I love a blazer, and they reign supreme as the classic wardrobe staple every woman needs in her wardrobe. No matter the season.

Perfect for layering under your oversized, undone duvet coat, keeping you warm at dinner or chucking on over your party dress pre-festive knees-up, blazers are the fashion chameleon to beat all others. They go with everything from jeans and shirts to mini skirts and tracksuit bottoms. Yep: if you’re still finding it tricky to end your lockdown-induced love of loungewear, you’ll be pleased to know blazers even pair well with your favourite pair of cuffed track pants, for an elevated take on our most comfortable sartorial style.

In winter, make a beeline for heavier blazers over the linen blazers you might favour in summer: think leather blazers courtesy of Arket, Deadwood and The Frankie Shop or something woollen like & Other Stories’ sell-out iteration. Stocked in a whole plethora of winter-appropriate hues, I may add. That way, your blazer can be the main event atop knitwear galore, or to keep you toasty underneath your trusty puffer coat

The moral of the story: however you’re planning to wear it, investing in one of the best blazers is never a bad idea. Trust. And fortunately, our favourite fashion brands stock every style under the sun, so you can find the one that works best for you. Be it checked, tailored, longline, loose or double-breasted.

The star of the show right now? Kate Middleton’s beige Reiss blazer which is finally back in stock after being sold out for SO long. The Duchess of Cambridge first donned her double-breasted Larsson blazer back in September this year, relying on the high-street staple for her visit to RAF Brize Norton.

She styled the blazer with a fan-favourite pair of trousers from Jigsaw and a taupe Tusting handbag which is still available to buy for £295. And she looked endlessly chic. Unsurprisingly, the blazer flew off the virtual rails – but it’s now back in stock for the first time since September. Trust us when we tell you that it won’t be for long.

Elsewhere, if you want to invest, Toteme’s wool and silk blend black blazer is a belted, minimalist’s dream, while this eye-catching checked blazer from the blazer brand to know – Blaze Milano – is guaranteed to make a timeless statement.

For something just as bold but at a fraction of the price, & Other Stories’ lilac blazer is made for turning heads, while this bright green Arket number will add a welcome injection of colour into an otherwise monochrome office outfit.
